Death toll comparison

Wow, that’s sobering. The Israel Palestine conflict is tragic to be sure, but I’ve often been frustrated with the disproportional coverage it gets compared to Darfur and the DRC. I have to admit I had no idea the DRC conflict was that much larger in scale in Darfur though.

I could get really worked up here about how little concern the West seems to show for nations we could help but offer little of political value to us, especially African nations.

Last night I watched “Blood Diamond” so this struck home even harder than usual. Child solders, mass killings, and much else in Africa and it gets so little attention from those of us who could do the most to change things and who indirectly fuel the fighting over resources we later purchase.

Kacie, After your nice comments about CT, I decided to visit your site. These info-graphics are awesome. Could you tell me what the source is. We might want to do something like this in CT.

Kacie, It's me, Hope, responding to your comment on my blog. I'm an MK from Taiwan who married an MK from Brazil. We've lived here for 20 years now.
